Elijah Barrett (Barreto Calcaño) was born in eastern Pennsylvania in 1987 to parents from Puerto Rico and Venezuela and was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He studied photography at Yale University and will begin an MFA in photography at the University of Hartford — Hartford Art School in the summer of 2019. He lives and works in Austin, TX.
